The Austin Zoo

We decided to check out the Austin Zoo a couple of weekends ago. Although not the most upscale zoo (its a rescue zoo), it was actually pretty nice and we had alot of fun. You can get ALOT closer to the animals at the Austin Zoo than you can at the San Antonio Zoo. The animals also seemed to be a lot more energetic... especially the tigers. Addie had a blast until a deer stole her bag of animal food (see below).

She liked the "big turtles"...

She really liked chasing the free-roaming chickens.

Here chicken...

She enjoyed feeding the animals at the petting zoo - all but the llama, he was a bit too slobbery.

Here she is after the deer stole her bag of food. Notice the single tear rolling down her cheek. Good thing Mommy had a second bag of food!

Mommy and Addie.

After the zoo, we headed to Phil's for some yummy burgers, Amy's icecream and, of course, the playground. That place is a cash cow. It's perfect for families with young kids and is always packed every time we go. Addie really enjoys it, and we do too!
